The Thursday 4th gig is all original material so looking forward to that one. May even deliver the live debut of our latest track “Tear Us Apart” if I can learn the words in time.
You can click here to hear the shortened Radio edit version if you are interested. We think it is one of the best we have done so far and from comments we have received it seems to proving to be quite popular.
It was suggested that we sort a video for it and put it up on YouTube but not sure about that one.
We still don’t seem to be able to produce a T-shirt so videos are highly unlikely.
Why it is proving so difficult to produce the shirt I really don’t know.
We haven’t played for a couple of weeks as you know. The last gig saw us return to the Griffin after a lengthy break and it was a cracker. Two more there this year. Yes we did our Silver machine tribute to Lemmy again and it went down a storm again.
Only fly in the ointment was me cutting my finger whilst loading the van, quite a nasty cut which bruised as well. Just about healed now and it was over two weeks ago. Probably a good thing we didn’t have any gigs.
So what else has been happening aside from the domestic side of life? Not much really.
Still watching the weigh and fortunately it is heading in the right direction at the moment. Still a fair way to go based on the picture taken at the Witton Chimes on Jan 2nd. I am using that as my fridge picture to remind me.
I treated myself before Christmas and bought a new Guitar, A Ritchie Blackmore Fender Stratocaster. No it doesn’t make me sound or play like him although bizarrely it does make me want to play Deep Purple and Rainbow songs when I pick it up. It has some nice touches such as recessed strap locks and a scalloped fingerboard although I have not yet worked out what benefit this is supposed to give. I was not intending to use it with the band as the pickups are single coils and not the same as on my stage guitars. It was really just for me because I wanted it and it was time to give myself a treat. Needless to say I am now in the process of carrying out my standard modifications so that I can use it live. So you may see it pop up in some pictures soon as my spare on stage.
Do you know, keeping these things regular is a difficult activity when you have so many other things going on? I started putting this one together a few days ago and it is now imperative that I put it out to tie in with the next gigs or it will be pointless.
It’s February already. Social media has it‘s uses but finding time to keep it all updated is proving more and more difficult.
I did have quite a few other things I was going to mention but nothing that won’t keep until next time
So I will finish here and just say that I hope you are all keeping healthy, enjoying life and are remembering to keep Rockin’
Oh yes – just a quick one – I listened to the Back Street Crawler album by Paul Kossoff and I can see why it passed me by. Disappointing at best but I will review properly next time.
See ya
