Hi All,
Well I was definitely being paranoid last time and I shouldn’t have been.
Saturday night in the Mechanics had a good crowd and barmaid Zoe picked the winner of our ZZ Top tickets competition out of the hat. Congratulations to Sam Millar of Wigan.
We play there again in August. By the way.
Sunday and the gig in Denton was moved forward to start at 7pm. As it happened a major clash with the England Football match but then again these days football is on constantly so difficult to avoid.
Our worries went away when we arrived, a great music venue even though they have only just started having live bands. We played to a small but enthusiastic crowd and everyone was baying for more when we finished at 9pm. There might not have been many there but they made a lot of noise.
A great gig and we hope the Toll Point gets a reputation for live music, we would be glad to return.
We were supposed to be getting together to run through the next single tomorrow night but car vandalism (Steve’s) has put an end to that. Hopefully only postponed until Thursday.
So two gigs in North Wales at the weekend but that is days away. All sorts of things to fit in before then.
Restringing a couple of guitars might be a good start!
Still it could be worse, my old school (and good) friend Neil Tudor who makes his living as a Paul McCartney tribute /look-alike etc has just returned from a Beatles tribute tour in Germany. His vintage Hofner bass has been really messed up in transit despite being heavily secured in a heavy-duty flight case,
Airport baggage handlers, don’t you just love ‘em?
Ok, time to go – Will try and get back next time something to report. By the way the New Black Star riders album “all hell breaks loose” is well worth a couple of spins.
Rock on
Craig
